Here are the Top 9 questions and small business owners responses for January 2009 from NFIB 411 Small Business Facts:

1. FINANCE - For smaller businesses, what is the most important immediate problem associated with the current financial situation?  (Vol. 8, Iss. 7, Q#2.)

 

2. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - How many small businesses have a Web site that is capable of conducting e-commerce, that is, accepting orders and letting customers pay by credit card through a secure Web connection? (Vol. 7, Iss 5, Q#1F1.)

 

3. PENSIONS - What is the most popular type of pension plan among small businesses offering retirement plans to their employees? (Vol. 6, Iss. 1, Q#9a.)

 

4. ADVERTISING - How are small business owners most likely to evaluate the effectiveness of their advertising? (Vol. 6, Iss 7, Q#5.)

 

5. FIRING EMPLOYEES - About how many small businesses owners/managers fire one or more employees in a year or let them go for cause (not lay-offs)?  And how many do they fire?  (Vol. 7, Iss. 1, Q#3.)
